The Park Authority Veglia Devero was established in 1991 for the naturalistic preservation of these two important alpeggias, which today have become a tourist attraction for hikers and hikers in high altitudes. After crossing the Croveo and Goglio resorts, you will come to a large newly built car park where you can leave your car. From that point a few meters away you can see the beautiful plain of Devero, also equipped with ski lifts for the winter. In Devero, the famous promenade reaches Alpe Crampiolo and the dam of Codelago, but for experts there are numerous walks in high altitudes of every quality and level. Access to the Alpe Veglia, in contrast to Devero, is from San Domenico di Varzo, in Valle Divedro, a place always part of the territory of the same Montana Community.
Varzo is a picturesque village built upstream of the road that runs along it and acts as the main town of the valley; in the old town you can visit the parish church of San Giorgio and the 13th century Medieval Tower. In San Domenico, a hamlet of Varzo, there are equipped SKI FACILITIES which from m 1420 through a chair lift reach the 2551 m altitude. The basin of Veglia is an alpine wholly preserved in all its natural form; inside the park is even preserved a source of sparkling mineral water. In recent years, the Park Authority and the Region have implemented a number of important initiatives related to the knowledge and valorization of the park’s flora and fauna as well as a series of organized trips with professional trekking.
